Celebrity Homes: Herbalife Founder’s California Estate – Photo Permission

Herbalife co-founder Dick Marconi’s 1,225-acre San Juan Capistrano estate.

Herbalife co-founder Dick Marconi was a true American success story. The descendant of Italian and Ukrainian immigrants, the hard-working entrepreneur was born in Gary, Indiana. As a young man, he was class president, captain of the football team, and Indiana State Golden Gloves Champion, despite being blind in one eye. He moved to California in the late 50s with just $500 to his name but parlayed his passion for health and fitness into a nutraceutical empire. He would go on to found supplement company D&F Industries and co-found nutrition shake giant Herbalife. He created the Marconi racing team, and he was the oldest driver to race in the Long Beach Grand Prix. His spectacular car collection is now the Marconi Automotive Museum and Foundation for Kids. The multi-talented Marconi passed away in 2024 at the age of 91.

Luxury Home Prices Up 60% Since 2016
The price of a luxury home in the United States, homes worth $1.3 million or more, has increased 60% since 2016. A home that would cost about $1.3 million today was $796,622 in 2016.

Midwest Home Sales Lead the U.S. 
U.S. home-buying contracts increased by about 2% in October, with the Midwest posting a 5.3% increase and the more expensive Western U.S. down 1.5%, compared to October 2024. With more homes on the market and lower interest rates, the National Association of Realtors projects existing home sales to increase 14% in 2026. 

New Mansion On Indian Creek May Shatter South Florida Real Estate Records 
An unfinished mansion on Miami Beach’s Indian Creek Island has come on the market for $200 million. The nearly 28,000-square-foot home with nine bedrooms and a 135-foot dock will set a new record for South Florida home sales if it sells near the asking price. The Indian Creek property was once the home of singer Julio Iglesias, and the island is currently home to Jeff Bezos, Tom Brady, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner.

U.S. Home Prices Still Going Up 
Despite slower home sales and ongoing high interest rates, US home prices rose 0.4% in August, according to the U.S. Federal Housing Authority.  The South Atlantic division, which includes Florida, experienced a 0.7% increase. 

First-Time Home Buyers Are Getting Older 
According to the National Association of Realtors’ 2025 Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers, the percentage of first-time U.S. home buyers has dropped to a record low of 21%, while the typical age of first-time buyers has hit a record high of 40. The yearly survey of recent home buyers covered sales between July 2024 and June 2025.

Florida Dominates Best Retirement Towns
According to WalletHub, Orlando is not just for young people. The financial website rated Orlando as the best city in the United States for seniors, citing the area’s low taxes, health care and abundance of outdoor activities. Miami and Tampa are also ranked in the top five U.S. towns.

Florida Home Prices Down, After Years Of Rising Prices
Due to more home inventory and fewer remote workers, Florida condo and home prices have softened after years of steep increases. Single-family home prices have gone down by 3.6% since 2023, while condo prices have slid 9.3%. However, condo prices have increased by 26% since 2020, and single-family home prices have risen by 34%.

LA’s Iconic Stahl House Lists At $25 Million 
The Stahl House, one of the world’s most significant Mid-Century Modern homes, has come on the LA market at $25 million. Located in the city’s Hollywood Hills as Case Study House #22 and made famous by photographs from Julius Shulman for Time Magazine in 1960, the home was built for Buck and Carlotta Stahl and designed by architect Pierre Koenig, after other architects told them the lot was unbuildable. The glass-walled home has city, mountain and ocean views and has been in the Stahl family since it was built. 

Atlanta White House For Sale 
A home in Atlanta built as a replica of the White House is for sale at $35 million. Built in 2001 to three-quarters scale, the 16,500-square-foot estate features six bedrooms and an Oval Office modeled after the real one. The home was built by an Atlanta-area developer and is a favorite site for tourists and school history classes.

NYC’s Cotton Club Is For Sale
New York City’s historic Cotton Club opened in Harlem in 1920, operated by heavyweight boxing champion Jack Johnson. Top names in jazz, including Duke Ellington, Lena Horne and Louis Armstrong performed there. The most recent Cotton Club opened in 1978 in Harlem and closed in 2024. It is now for sale at $20 million.

Sabrina Carpenter Heads To Manhattan
Sabrina Carpenter has released her new album Man’s Best Friend, and she will be both the host and a performer for the third episode of the new season of Saturday Night Live. And to celebrate, Sabrina recently purchased a $10.5 million duplex apartment in New York City’s Tribeca neighborhood. The 2,910-square-foot apartment has four private terraces with an additional 973 square feet of outdoor space. Building amenities include a theater, wine cellar, a hot tub, a 75-foot lap pool, a theater, and a wine cellar. Clive Davis and Nicole Kidman have also been owners at Tribeca.

Tour Sylvester Stallone’s Palm Beach Home
Sylvester Stallone showed off his recently renovated Palm Beach home, memorabilia from his many films, and his art collection in an interview for the September/October edition of Veranda magazine. Stallone was one of Southern California’s busiest home buyers and sellers, including a home in Beverly Hills he sold to Adele for $58 million, a Pacific Palisades home designed by Paul Williams, an equestrian compound in Hidden Hills, and his La Quinta golf home. He was one of the first of the Hollywood celebrities to leave California for Florida in late 2020, when he paid $35.4 million for a waterfront home in Palm Beach.

Jennifer Lopez & Ben Affleck Try Again
The Beverly Hills mansion that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck bought after their marriage to be their forever home has returned to the market for $52 million. Initially listed at $68 million with very little interest from prospective buyers, the now-divorced couple paid almost $61 million for the home in 2023. The 38,000-square-foot home has every feature anyone could imagine, including 24 bathrooms and indoor basketball and pickleball courts. 

Richard Gere’s Connecticut Home Demolished
The New Cannan, Connecticut home that Richard Gere sold to a real estate developer in 2024 for $10.75 million has been demolished. Richard bought the 8,800-square-foot home in 2022 from singer Paul Simon for $10.85 million. The 32-acre property will be subdivided for construction of nine homes.

George Clooney’s Kentucky Home
George Clooney grew up in Augusta, Kentucky, about an hour from where his father, Nick Clooney, worked as a news anchor in Cincinnati. George’s parents continue to reside in Augusta, and rumors suggest that he and his wife, Amal Clooney, also own a nearby home. George has also owned an Italian villa on Lake Como since 2002 that is now worth about $100 million.

Johnny Carson’s Malibu Home Lists $110 Million
The over-the-top Malibu beach home where Johnny Carson lived from 1984 until his death in 2005 is for sale. Carson bought the 7,100-square-foot home with 300 feet of oceanfront for $9.5 million. The asking price is $110 million.

MLB Hall of Famer Greg Maddux’s San Diego Home
MLB Hall of Famer and longtime pitcher for the Chicago Cubs and Atlanta Braves, Greg Maddux has listed his San Diego home for $3.675 million. The four-bedroom home in the popular Sunset Cliffs neighborhood is located just one block from the beach, with beautiful ocean views.

Marilyn Monroe Home Saved from Demo
Marilyn Monroe purchased only one house during her 36-year lifetime when she bought a home in LA’s Brentwood neighborhood in early 1962—just a few months before her overdose death from sleeping pills. She paid $75,000 for the partially furnished home; her mortgage payments were only $320 a month. The current owners bought the home in 2023 for $8.35 million and planned to tear it down to expand their own next-door home. A judge has denied the current owners’ plan to demolish the home.

Ricky Martin’s Old Mansion Gets Fast Price Cut
Ricky Martin’s former Beverly Hills mansion recently came on the market for $75 million, and the price was quickly slashed to $49.95 million. Built in 1956, the 9,200-square-foot home on 2.37 acres has undergone a multi-year renovation. It was also once home to Michael Caine and to Doris Day’s family.

Alex Trebek’s Home Demolished & Replaced With Modern Farmhouse
Alex Trebek didn’t move around much. He was married to Jean Trebeck for 30 years, hosted Jeopardy! for 37 years, and lived almost 30 years in the same Studio City home. That Studio City home was sold for $8 million in 2022 and was then demolished and replaced with a 20,000-square-foot modern-style farmhouse. It is going on the market for $42 million.

Selena Gets Engaged & Buys $35 Million Mansion

Selena Gomez has been busy the last few months, including her engagement to music producer Benny Blanco, SAG nominations for her work in Only Murders in the Building, a new album coming out soon, and the seven-bedroom home she bought in Beverly Hills for $35 million. The home comes with two separate guest homes, a pool, fitness center and a greenhouse.

Bob Dylan’s Longtime NYC Home

The five-story New York brownstone where Bob Dylan lived for years is for sale at $7.3 million. The Manhattan home includes five bedrooms, almost 5,400 square feet, and seven wood-burning fireplaces. The 20-unit development has been a hot spot for celebrities since it was built in 1899, including Stephen Sondheim and E. B. White, in addition to Dylan.

Audrey Hepburn’s Swiss Home

The longtime Switzerland home of Audrey Hepburn is for sale at $21 million. Hepburn, who died in 1993, lived in the 12-bedroom home near Lausanne for 30 years. Hepburn won numerous awards for her acting, including the 1953 Academy Award for Best Actress.

Robin Williams’ San Francisco Home Sold

The San Francisco home that Robin Williams and his then-wife Marsha Garces Williams bought in 1991 for $3.2 million has sold. Fully walled and gated, the property offers stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Pacific Ocean, and the San Francisco Bay. Although Robin moved out prior to their 2010 divorce, Marsha and their children continued to live in the home. The home sold for $18 million.

Gwyneth Paltrow Gets Healthy in LA

Gwyneth Paltrow has sold her 1950s-era home in LA’s Brentwood neighborhood for $22 million. The trendsetter bought the 8,000-square-foot home in 2012 for $9.95 million. It includes six bedrooms; there is also a one-bedroom guest house with an office, wine cellar, office, gym, and a theater.

Tom Brady on the Move

A few years ago, Tom Brady paid $17 million for a lot on South Florida’s ritzy Indian Creek, where we then built his new home. It looks like Tom may be ready to take advantage of the sky-high home prices that the Billionaire-Bunker neighborhood is now getting and has quietly marketed his home for about $150 million. A 1.87-acre vacant lot next door to the properties that Jeff Bezos bought for $237 million in 2024 is for sale at $200 million.

Lori Loughlin Relists LA Mansion

Lori Loughlin and her fashion-designer husband, Mossimo Giannulli, have relisted their 11,808-square-foot home for $16.5 million, a million dollars less than it was listed last year. Lori and Mossimo bought the home in LA’s Hidden Hills neighborhood for $9.5 million in August 2020, the same month they were sentenced to prison for their roles in the college admissions scandal, falsely passing their daughters off as scholarship athletes to gain admission to the University of Southern California.

Renée Zellweger’s Former SoCal Home

Renée Zellweger’s former home in the mountains overlooking Malibu is for sale at $7.995 million. The Bridget Jones star bought the 4,414-square-foot home in 2015 for $3.5 million and sold it in 2021 for $6.4 million.

The Gloria Vanderbilt Estate

Gloria Vanderbilt was an American artist, fashion designer, socialite, and heiress to the Vanderbilt fortune. In 1941, the designer leased a home in Beverly Hills, and the spectacular English Revival mansion has been known as “The Gloria Vanderbilt Estate” ever since. It is for sale at $16.495 million.

Steve Wynn’s $75 Million Beverly Hills Mansion

Steve Wynn owns homes throughout the United States, including Las Vegas, New York City, West Palm Beach and Sun Valley. His 27,000-square-foot Beverly Hills home on 2.7 acres is for sale at $75 million. The home includes 11 bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, a theater, a lighted tennis court, and a swimming pool.

“White Christmas” crooner Bing Crosby’s favorite place was on a golf course. His Palm Desert golf course home, which Crosby nicknamed a wing of the house “The Kennedy Suite” after JFK and Marilyn Monroe spent a weekend there together, is for sale at $13.5 million.  

Michael Jordan’s Timeshare Mansion
The suburban Chicago home that Michael Jordan recently sold after 12 years on the market is slated to become a $1 million-per-week timeshare. According to a press release, the new owner is going to offer the home to buyers for annual shares of seven days. Buyers will be limited to just one share.

Elvis Presley’s Honeymoon House of Tomorrow
A Palm Springs home made famous as both the “Look” magazine “House of Tomorrow” in 1962 and Elvis Presley’s honeymoon house in 1967 is for sale at $9.27 million. Elvis leased the House of Tomorrow as a wedding location and honeymoon house for his marriage to Priscilla. But once the press caught wind of the nuptials, Elvis and Priscilla snuck out the back and flew to Las Vegas for a quickie wedding.  The lovebirds flew back to Palm Springs and spent four days at the House of Tomorrow before Elvis had to go back to work filming a movie.

“Breaking Bad” Home For $4 Million
The Albuquerque, New Mexico home that was used as the TV home of Walter White in the Netflix series Breaking Bad is for sale. Listed at $3.995 million, the 1,910-square-foot home is being marketed as an Airbnb or a collector’s home.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s Marina del Rey Home
Considered by many to be the greatest basketball player of all time, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was chosen as the NBA’s most valuable player six times and an NBA All-Star nineteen times during his storied twenty-season career for the Milwaukee Bucks and the Los Angeles Lakers. His former 17-acre estate on the St. Lucie River in Palm City, Florida has come on the market at $45 million. The LA home Jim Carrey called his “magical sanctuary” has sold after almost two years on the market. The home has five bedrooms, six full baths, a home theater, and even an art gallery space where Jim displayed his own impressive creations. The home was most recently listed at $19.75 million.

Sean Hannity Moves Closer To President Donald Trump
Sean Hannity has moved closer to President Donald Trump, spending $23.5 million on a 12,378-square-foot home in Manalapan, Florida. The eight-bedroom, 10.5-bath mansion is located on both the Intracoastal and the Atlantic Ocean, about 30 minutes from Mar-a-Lago. Hannity sold his New York mansion in early 2024 for $12.7 million, telling his radio listeners that he was “done” with the Empire State and would be moving to the “free state” of Florida.   

Lower Price On Rob Lowe’s House
Rob Lowe has knocked another chunk off the asking price of his LA home. Originally listed in July at $6.575 million, Rob has now cut the price twice for a total discount of more than $1 million. The new asking price is  $5.49 million for the four-bedroom 2,940-square-foot home in Beverly Hills’ Franklin Canyon neighborhood.

Robert Redford has listed his Tiburon, California home for $4.15 million. Listed as “A Serene Seaside Cottage,” Redford bought the home with views of the San Francisco Bay in 2020 for $3.1 million.

Sylvester Stallone Buys Mansion For His Lucky Daughters
Sylvester Stallone is a giving person, donating to several charities for children and military veterans. He is also very generous to his family, having just purchased an 11,644-square-foot home in the Hamptons for his three daughters to use. Now living in Palm Beach, Florida, Sylvester bought the eight-bedroom home in East Hampton sight unseen for about $25 million. The home came fully furnished, located about one mile from the ocean.  

Michael Jordan’s Mansion Buyer
The buyer of retired NBA star Michael Jordan’s 56,000-square-foot Chicagoland mansion is John Cooper, a longtime Jordan fan and real estate investor. On the market for over 12 years, the nine-bedroom home on eight acres is loaded with amenities, including an indoor regulation-sized basketball court. The home was originally listed at $29 million, before a long series of price cuts, until Cooper picked it up for about $9.5 million.

Jennifer Lopez Moving On, But Staying Put
Jennifer Lopez may be finished with Ben Affleck, but she is staying put in the Beverly Hills mansion she shared with Ben. After their 2022 marriage, Jennifer and Ben spent months searching for their perfect blended-family home in LA before they settled on a $60.8 million, 12-bedroom home in Beverly Hills. With the divorce action, Ben and Jennifer listed the home for $68 million. That home has been on the market since July and is costing the ex-couple almost $300,000 a month in expenses. Ben moved out of the home several months ago.

Historic Key West Property – Ernest Hemingway Stayed There
Located just a block from Duval Street, a unique Key West property is for sale at $6.9 million. Originally a hotel with a Ford dealership on the ground floor, it was where Ernest Hemingway stayed for a month while awaiting delivery of a car in 1928.

Mary Tyler Moore’s Connecticut Home
The Mary Tyler Moore Show was one of television’s most popular programs from the 1970s, starring Mary as an associate producer on Minneapolis’s low-rated WJM-TV. The show aired on CBS and won numerous awards, including 29 Emmy Awards. Mary’s longtime home in Greenwich, Connecticut is for sale at a reduced price of $16.9 million.
